Little Bakers...

I found these little aprons and chef hats at the dollar store. I was excited to show Tera. The second I showed her she asked "What are we going to make?" So, we whipped up a batch of rainbow chip cookies. The kids love helping mix, frost and lick the egg beaters of course.

I thought it would be a great idea to put Mazz in the kitchen sink for a bath while I cleaned up the kitchen a bit, and while she thoroughly enjoyed being in the sink, I wasn't able to get much down for a few reasons-
1. I kept watching her
2. When I would watch her I wanted to take pictures her.
3. She kept standing up and I'd have to tell her to sit down.
4. She wouldn't sit down sometimes so I'd have to go over and put her on her bum.
5. When she was sitting down she would drink from the faucet and start choking on the water.
So, if you think putting your baby in the kitchen sink for a bath will help you get things accomplished... you are probably wrong. But you'll probably bet some cute pictures. I love this little ones personality!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Matt's parents came down to visit for a week. The kids love having them around to play with and Mom loves having the extra help and company. We had a nice visit just spending time together. Thanks Larry and Peggy for making the long journey to So-cal to see us! We will see you at Christmas. I will try not to let little Mazz grow up too much in the mean-time.

Love this...

Sarah took our family pics this week- she is sooo talented. Love the ones of the kids-
Unfortunatley Matt and I hopped in for the family ones and seem to have ruined all of them. Just had to share this picture though.
Thanks Sarah! Sorry we were so terribly un-photogenic that day! This picture is priceless for me..

New-Do

Thanks Katie for my new do! I was excited to get rid of the orange hair and am loving the dark brown and red! I always feel a bit like a teenager when I take pictures of myself but having a baby in them reminds me I am very not in high school anymore.

Like Zoinks! Happy Halloween!

The Scooby Doo Gang at Trunk or Treat-
Scooby- Mazzi, Daphne- Kyra, Freddy- Matt, Shaggy- Ashton, Velma- Tera

Mazzi was excited to find piles of candy on the floor, especially succors.
Matt's parents were able to join us for the week of Halloween. It was fun having them trick-or treating with us.
Tera as Velma. Isn't she adorable?
After beign Shaggy for trunk-or-treat Ashton decided he wanted to be something differnt. So, he chose to be Leonardo for the actual trick-or-treating event. Tera and I both went as Velma for trick-or treating. I decided I should never cut my hair in that style.

I spent several "spare moments" transforming their little push car into the mystery machine. Ashton got an idea in his head that we should paint my Acura green and blue since we were all bieing Scooby-Doo characteres. I was able to convince him that it would be sufficeint to just paint the little car. It turned out pretty cute.

Pumpkin time!

We had a fun time carving pumpkins. So fun seeing the kids get excited about it. The highlight was definetley Mazzi eating hand fuls of pumpkin guts and then seeing whole pumpkin seeds in her diaper the next day. Ashton and Tera loved dacnign around to "Monster Mash" after the carving extravaganza. (Please note my cute new orange shoes- that everyone else in the ward has also. I love them! They match my orange hair wonderfully!)

My future burrito maker/ lego budiler

Crazy hair day- this was last minute and apparently he got teased. Poor kid. I thought it was cute.

He was star of the week for school. So cute. We filled out his questionnaire together. It was hilarious hearing his answers!

Name: Ashton Scott Thompson
I am Five years old
My birthday is "Before Christmas" November 11th
My favorite color is: blue
I like to play: Swords, Lego batman
My favorite ice cream flavor is: strawberry
I like to go to :Sea worlds, Nana's house, the fun center and camping
My favorite food is : strawberries with powdered sugar, pizza, sausage
When I grow up I want to be : power ranger, burrito maker, lego builder.

I have to explain the burrito maker part. The other day we ate a burrito at Del Taco and it was a little spicy. He commented "Mom, when I grow up I want to work at Del Taco with you and make burritos a little less spicy so everyone will say how tasty the burritos are we make." I liked picturing my son and I working at Del Taco together when he is 16 and I am 36. Then today when he was building Lego's I told him how good he was at creating Lego scenes and said that maybe he should be a Lego creator when he grows up. He said "No, remember Mom, I am going to build burritos." After thinking about it for a while he said "I guess I could have two jobs. On Saturday I could build Lego's and then on Wed. I could make burritos." That would be the life- only working two days a week. I love hearing the funny things kids say.

I used to like dogs

I used to like dogs but now it seems we always have our neighbors dogs in our house or in our backyard. They like to run inside whenever we have the door open, or dig holes under the fence to come hang out/poop in our grass. It drives me nuts and I find myself wanting to kick them and shoot them with b.b guns. That's all I have to say about that.

Don't use neutrogena on your baby

Mazzi has had this reaction happen two times when she has taken a bath in our tub. I couldn't figure out what was doing this to her. I think I finally figured out that it only happened when the neutrogena bottle was in the water with her. Not that I was scrubbing her up with it, but I think enough of the oils got into the water and caused these hives to appear. It was a scary sight to see, but she wasn't at all bothered by it.

Sacrament...

The other day Ashton asked if he could bring me the sacrament. He proceeded to break bread apart and bring me bread and water. He was very reverent about the whole process. I am glad at least most of him wants to be good. :)

Today when I was volunteering at his school he came up to me to tell me that one of the little girls kept saying "God." He kept telling her that was a bad word. I told him, God was a good word and was only bad to say if she was saying it in vain. He said she was saying it bad. So I told him he could ask her to stop saying it like that but that not everyone believed it was bad to say the Lord's name in vain. He said, "yea but they should. We'll see if Ashton's influence can change some of his classmates ways! I love you Ash! Thanks for listening to Mom and listening in church- even when I think you aren't!
