Why not?

The kids were in the backyard the other day and they said they wanted to play in the mud. So, me, like any other responsible parent would, agreed. They had so much fun. It was definitely worth throwing underwear away and hosing and showering them off. They had a blast. Now I just need to remind them that this is not an every day occurrence.

Princess

I am copying Niki and entering Tera in the Shabby Apple picture princess contest. Niki, I hope you don't care. I figured with all the hundreds, maybe thousands of people entering their little girls one more wouldn't matter. And with our new pics and her new hair-do I just couldn't resist.

Our little Tera lives in a fairy tale all of her own. At home she can always be found in a poufy dress, dancing, singing and twirling the day away. Tera is a sweet girl and her sweetness is easily captured by the camera. I adore her from her golden hair, blue eyes, beautiful full lips, down to her plump little toes. Whenever I look at a picture of this little girl I am in awe of her beauty and can't help but smile myself. I think Tera would look stunning in the vineyard dress. Seriously.

I got my drivers licence in the mail for the third time in three months to find that once again they have placed my maiden name on my drivers licence. I am still Kyra Smith. Should I go in for the 5th time or just hope I don't have any problems?

These two...

Sarah took these pictures- they capture Tera and Ashton's relationship well. I love how Tera starts off smiling and ends by looking very nervous or annoyed. This is how it usually goes when they play together, only the picture sequence should end with one of Tera in tears.

First off let me say that I absolutely adore my children and love being a mom. That being said- they drive me completely nuts sometimes! Ashton and Tera often decide to team up against me. This is somewhat manageable when I can put them in time-out, put soap in their mouth and send them to their rooms in the privacy of our own home. However, when they misbehave when we are in public I get a little (okay, a lot) upset. The other day we had to go to a doctors appointment for Mazzi (I feel like I should live at the doctors office these days) then to bring in Ashton's kindergarten registration and then to Target to pick up a prescription. They were extremely naughty and totally embarrassed me. In fact, I had the doctor put Ashton in time out and then the school nurse even had a little chat with Ashton. Do you think it helped? No.... they were both little monsters. Tera following the lead of Ashton of course, as she always does.

Needless to say this week I am going to the Library in search of a good parenting/disciplining book.

And then there's this sweet little one...

I am convinced she is the best baby ever. She's been sleeping through the night since she was 2 months old, she rarely cries these days and is full of smiles. She is mellow and brings peace into my life. Basically she is perfect!!!

I hope this doesn't sound like I have a favorite, but it's easy to be partial to a cute little girl who doesn't talk back. My only complaint about Mazzi is that she often poops through her outfits multiple times a day. This comes to mind because she just did, so I better go change her clothes... again.

Me & My Guy

Sarah took our family pics. on Sat. She did an awesome job and I couldn't have been happier with the pics she got. I love so many I am having trouble choosing which ones to enlarge for my frame- I can only choose six- I am thinking 1 family, 1 of each of the kids solo, one of Matt and I and 1 of the three kids together, Please tell me your fave so I can narrow it down!
Thanks Sarah!
If any one down in this neck of the woods is looking for an awesome, reasonable photographer (who also gives you a CD of all the prints) then check out her blog- or ask me for her info.

Mazzi is getting so big! She is now three months old. It is going by too fast. She is still so calm and sweet and nice to have around! Which is your favorite shot?

Un- annoying

We did have some fun this week. Wednesday we went to San Diego to stay the night with Matt in the motel. Only two weeks of training left before he begins to work closer to home! The only thing we will miss about his training away from home are our mini vacation sot San Diego and Costa Mesa. We have enjoyed visiting him overnight. The kids love the pool and cartoons at the motel and I love going out to eat (expenses paid) and not having to make the beds in the morning.

On Thursday I took the kids to the San Diego temple grounds and walked around, then we met Matt at Red Robin for dinner. We went in the hot tub and sat around the fire pit at the motel, then went to sleep. In the am the kids watched their cartoons, got the kids favorite breakfast (sausage mcmuffins, hashbrowns and fruit and yogurt parfaits- thanks McDonald's!) we went on a walk along the water to a fun little park, then met Matt for lunch and drove home. It was blissful!
